Office Party Massacre 3

48 Hour Film Horror Project Des Moines 2024

This party should have been an email.

The final chapter in a romance novel goes through a desperate and bizarre revision moments before it is set to be published.

Audience Award Winnter
The 48 Horror event may be our team's favorite film challenge. Sure we've been competing in original recipe 48 for over ten years, but with horror the gloves are off. Brian spends the whole year testing and researching different blood gags. Chuck is working on munitions ideas. Pat is cracking the whip and demanding nothing but excellence... Anywho.

Making Magic

December 2023 - June 2024

Romance... as imagined by two kids who have no clue what it is.

The final chapter in a romance novel goes through a desperate and bizarre revision moments before it is set to be published.
Screenings:DSM Underground Film Festival - November 2024Fleur Film Festival - September 2024Tiny Explosions Showcase - June 2024
This film was produced purely for the fun of it in the winter of 2024. Initially intended as a opportunity to submit something fresh to the debut of the Fleur Film Festival, as the film took shape it very quickly turned into our first PG-rated project, a wildly fun celebration of creativity and childish reckless abandon, and a tribute to the director's mother. Making Magic borrows its title and character names from the real world literary work of Adelyn Zara, a.k.a. Linda Boberg. As someone who laughed the hardest at Tiny Explosions, there's no doubt she would have loved this.
In memory of Linda Catanzaro Boberg, 1955-2023.

Wheel of Death

48 Hour FIlm Project Des Moines HORROR 2023October 6-8, 2023

It's all fun and games, until you're dead

After Pat getting sick derailed 2022, Tiny Explosion was excited to properly compete in the 48HFP Horror competition. Brian has fallen in love in learning practical horror effects and make-up, recruiting friends Chuck and Nicole as support. The result is an undeniably fun horror-comedy. This might be our best film to date.

Palle Amorevoli – Soundtrack

Tiny Explosions received an added boost of talent in 2018 when multi-faceted musician Jordan Mayland offered up his skills to produce the score for Palle Amorevoli. All the music in the film was produced within the 48 Hour filmmaking window and recorded by Jordan. He worked his brain out his ear to make these songs happen and they are flipping awesome. An additional thank you goes out to Jill McLain for joining the team in 2018 and writing the lyrics for Jordan's tunes with the added help of Nate Carlson, Erin Hogan, Brian Hogan, Jon Hoffmann, and team leader Patrick Boberg. These songs are unquestionably awesome. Take a listen and please throw some love Jordan's way.

So here's the thing, there is one more Tiny Explosions short and it is not embedded on this page. Why, pray tell, has it not been posted here? Welllll... It's hilarious, but Pat dances over and behind the line of tastes that short kind of crosses. So if you're really looking to watch something that will make you do a spit take, but end with you going "WHY!?!?" Then you need watch, Balls.
